Case against 7 of online paedophile group

The CBI has registered a case against seven Indians, who were allegedly part of an international WhatsApp group circulating and uploading child pornography.

The FIR has been registered on the information shared by the German authorities, who had detected the online paedophile group.

Those named in the case are Vinoth Kannan and Khozema from Tamil Nadu, Zuhaib Ali from Delhi, Rakesh from Haryana, Abhishek Kumar Tripathi from Uttar Pradesh, Joydeep Roy from West Bengal and Rahees from Rajasthan.

The group was unearthed after the German police had launched a probe against one Sasche Treppke, who was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for his involvement in sexual abuse of children and distribution of child pornography. He was a member in 29 WhatsApp groups comprising 483 users, seven of whom were Indian nationals.
