A pair of handrafted bookends made of wood, marble and silver and a book - this is what U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron was presented with by PM Modi on the second day of Mr Modi's U.K. visit.

The centerpiece of each of these bookends is a silver bell, "an object of rich symbolism relating to inner wisdom and tidings, which has a verse from the Bhagavad Gita etched in Sanskrit, along with its English meaning along the inside rim," said a statement from Mr. Modi's website.

Mr. Modi also presented Mr. Cameron with David Omissi’s book titled Indian Voices of the Great War.

To Ms. Samantha Cameron, Mr. Cameron's wife, PM Modi presented an Aranmula metal mirror, a GI-protected handicraft from Kerala, and pashmina stoles.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Modi took a walk with Mr. Cameron, beginning the second day of engagements with a "private tete-a-tete".
