BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy on Thursday targeted Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for not taking substantive steps to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. Dr. Swamy said, “If the government continues to follow Mr. Jaitley’s strategy, black money will not be recovered.”

Dr. Swamy rued that his six-point agenda to recover black money had been binned by the Finance Ministry. “I had given a six-point plan to bring back the Rs. 120-lakh crore worth of black mone. This amount is 60 times the annual income tax collection of India. But Mr. Jaitley is not listening to me.” He said the government headed by Mr.Modi had not heeded his advice because of Mr. Jaitley.

Dr. Swamy called Rahul Gandhi “a commission agent” and claimed that the combined wealth of Mr. Gandhi and his mother, Sonia Gandhi, was $40 billion.
