BJP showing its true colours: Janata Parivar

December 22, 2014 01:19 am | Updated November 16, 2021 04:50 pm IST - Patna:

Leaders of Janata Dal (United) and Rashtriya Janata Dal have strongly criticised Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat’s pitch for a “Hindu awakening,” made in Kolkata on Saturday. The former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the RSS chief’s remarks reflected the true character of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which had far greater interest in fomenting communal tension in society than in handling issues of development, employment and farmers’ welfare.

“It shows the real agenda of the BJP which had come to power promising to bring development and employment to the country, besides going after the black money stashed abroad. Now, raising issues of religious conversion, they want to divert the attention of the nation,” said the senior JD(U) leader as he left for Delhi to participate in a mahadharna of six parties, including the erstwhile Janata Parivar, at Jantar Mantar on Monday.

RJD MP Pappu Yadav, asked: “Where have all their promises and declarations, made during the general elections, gone? What have they done for farmers’ welfare, for employment and the development of the country? The statements they are making these days have exposed their real character.”
