The BJP on Saturday held the UPA government responsible for the stalemate in Parliament as it was not ready for a robust debate on corruption, price rise and black money stashed abroad.
“The central government is responsible for the impasse in Parliament...we want an effective debate on the issues of corruption, price rise and bringing the black money stashed abroad, but the government wants a timid debate,” BJP spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad told reporters here.
Stating that his party was at a loss to understand why the Centre was shying away from holding a constructive debate by way of allowing the adjournment motion, he said.
“We want voting on these burning issues but it seems that the government is not in control,” he said.
“The adjournment motion will make it clear that which are the parties with the government on the issue of escalating prices of commodities,” he said.
He also wanted to know from the Centre that what had prevented it from disclosing the names of 700 people on the issue of black money.
