Assembly election results to tilt Rajya Sabha numbers

The results of five Assembly elections will impact the ruling NDA government’s arithmetic in the Rajya Sabha. There are 13 seats from these five States of which the BJP holds eight.

These seats will fall vacant in 2020. The BJP is the single largest party in Rajya Sabha.

In Madhya Pradesh there are four seats out of which BJP holds two and one is with Congress. In Rajasthan, all the three seats are with BJP. In Chattisgarh out of three seats two are with BJP and one with Congress. The Telangana there are two seats one each for TDP and Congress.
