Arvind Singh takes over as the AAI chairman

He was formerly the Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) in Government of Maharashtra

Arvind Singh, an IAS officer of 1988 batch, took over as Chairman of Airports Authority of India on Wednesday.

His post fell vacant after his predecessor, Guruprasad Mohapatra, was promoted as Secretary, Government of India.

Prior to this appointment, Arvind Singh was Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) in Government of Maharashtra. He also worked as Chairman & Managing Director of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. and the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd.

Mr Singh is from Maharashtra Cadre and completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and from the Delhi School of Economics.
