Another police complaint against Nivedita Menon

March 14, 2016 02:03 am | Updated December 04, 2021 11:02 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The ABVP on Sunday lodged two separate police complaints: one against JNU Professor Nivedita Menon for “justifying” pro-azadi slogans on Jammu and Kashmir and the other against an Associate Dean for giving nod to the controversial Afzal Guru event on February 9.

The undersigned in both the complaints is Saurabh Sharma, JNU Students’ Union joint secretary.

The complaints demanding action against the varsity’s teaching and non-teaching staff members were filed at the Vasant Kunj (North) police station. No FIR has been registered yet.

The complaint says Professor Menon made statements such as “Everyone knows that India is illegally occupying Kashmir. It is said the world over. Everybody accepts (it)” and “Manipur and Kashmir have been illegally occupied by the Indian State”.
