Announcing, The Hindu Photojournalism Awards

On World Photography Day, we are pleased to announce The Hindu Photojournalism Awards to recognise the contribution of those behind the images that capture the news as it breaks every day.

Open to all those who have published a photo or photostory in an established print or online publication, the awards will be presented in five categories. They are Photo of the Year, Photo Story of the Year, General News, Sports, and People/Portraits.

Indian citizens and those who are residents of India may submit published works for the Awards, which are held in association with the CPB Foundation, the non-profit trust that organises the Chennai Photo Biennale.

The winners will receive a trophy and cash prizes ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh for each prize.

Submissions will open on September 9, 2018 and close on November 19, 2018. The Awards will be announced during the Chennai Photo Biennale in February 2019.

The submission process and other details relating to the awards will be made public shortly.
