YSRCP slams Opposition for indulging in ‘cheap publicity’

‘Jagan’s bold decisions will help save taxpayers’ money’

YSRCP spokesman Koyya Prasad Reddy on Sunday said the BJP, the TDP and the JSP were on the same page in launching a “motivated campaign” against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his policies.

Addressing the media here, Mr. Prasad Reddy said the way the four MPs, who had migrated from the TDP to the BJP, were making statements against the YSRCP government gave an impression that they were sent by Leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu to the saffron party to safeguard the interests of his party. He said JSP president Pawan Kalyan was also now siding with the TDP in criticising Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mr. Prasad Reddy said people were happy with the way Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was fulfilling the promises he made.

He said, in the first three months itself he had ensured transparency by cancelling the power purchase agreements and the contract awarded to Navayuga for construction of Polavaram due to inflated cost.

He said the bold decisions taken by the government would help save the taxpayers’ money. Instead of indulging in “cheap publicity,” the Opposition should be objective in its criticism, he said.

Mr. Prasad Reddy said the YSRCP government was trying to address the unemployment problem by generating jobs, and described how they were recruiting thousands of youth as village/ward secretaries.
