YSRCP asks Naidu to vacateresidence on ‘moral grounds’

Ex-CM, Lingamaneni confusing the issue, alleges Mangalagiri MLA

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu vacate the house in which he is staying, on ‘moral grounds.’

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, YSRCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said that both Mr. Naidu and Lingamaneni Ramesh, who owns the building, had announced in 2016 that the building was government property. Mr. Ramesh declared that he handed over the property to the government. Mr. Naidu said that the government took possession of the building as part of the master plan. He had further stated that the area would be used for the development of tourism, the MLA recalled.

‘Clarity will emerge soon’

After the notice was pasted on the house, things bounced in a different direction. Now, Mr. Ramesh claims that the property belongs to him. Still, there is no clarity from either the developer or the person who is staying in the house about the status of the house. The Capital Region Development Authority officials would clear the air soon. “It appears that Mr. Naidu intimidated him to claim ownership of the property,”

He demanded that Mr. Naidu and Mr. Ramesh end the confusion.

The former Chief Minister should respect the law of the land. He should immediately vacate the house and stop his “doublespeak” on the status of the house. Mr. Naidu could buy a cent of land and construct his own house, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy added.
