YSRC blames Naidu

October 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - ANANTAPUR:

The YSR Congress on Friday criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and held him responsible for the neglect of Rayalaseema region.

Severe drought

Addressing a press conference here, YSRC leader and former Anantapur MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy accused Mr. Naidu of neglecting Rayalaseema, especially Anantapur district, which faced severe drought.

Pattiseema project

“Why has the State government not allotted 100 TMC of water to Rayalaseema districts if the very reason behind the construction of Pattiseema project was to stabilise the ayacut in the Krishna delta and thereby divert water from Srisailam to Rayalaseema?” he asked.

‘Not a single job’

Mr. Reddy said the TDP government had taken away thousands of acres for industries while creating not a single job in Anantapur district.

“The government has given away 6,000 acres for a solar park where no jobs have been created. Even attender jobs in the central university cannot be reserved for the local people. Almost none from the district will ever get to enter the BEL factory, let alone work there,” Mr Venkatrami Reddy remarked.
