Youth told to emulate Vivekananda teachings

Several leaders and representatives of various organisations on Monday recalled the contribution of Swami Vivekananda to the nation while urging youngsters to emulate his ideals and understand the importance of Hindu religion and culture.

They paid rich tributes at the Vivekananda’s statue on the occasion of his 151st birth anniversary.

Real resources

Speaking on the occasion, Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Rammohan and Srikakulam MLA Gunda Lakshmidevi said youngsters were the real resources of the country and their energies should be used properly.

They said that Vivekananda’s teachings were still relevant for all the people particularly for youngsters who needed to know about the India’s great heritage, culture and values.

SETSRI Chief Executive Officer V.V.R.S. Murthy and Nehru Yuvaka Kendram Coordinator K.V. Ramana explained about the government’s initiatives in improving the skills of youngsters.

Exclusive library

Srikakulam Vivekananda Seva Samiti representatives Jami Bhima Sankara Rao, Pudi Tirupati Rao, Srikakulam Citizen’s Forum president Baratam Kameswara Rao, Indian Red Cross Society chairperson P. Jaganmohana Rao, Y.Geeta Srikanth and others participated in the meeting.

Some of them sought an exclusive library for the promotion of Vivekananda teachings in rural areas too.
