Party to set up booth-level committees in 50 wards of constituency

Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress State general secretary Chowdary Satish and Srikakulam District Congress Committee president Dola Jaganmohana Rao on Sunday claimed youngsters were joining the party as they realised the country could develop only under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

They said the party’s foundation remained strong in the district and it would get back its glory in no time as people were fed up with the BJP at the Centre and the TDP in the State.

The leaders visited the 50th division, interacted with people and appointed booth-level committees.

Mr. Satish, incharge of appointing the committees, said the party was getting a fresh look in the district as many educated persons joined it.

“We are going to appoint booth-level committees in all the 50 wards of the Srikakulam Assembly constituency. The committees will highlight the denial of the special category status and other benefits during the Narendra Modi regime. The State will get more funds, the status and the Visakhapatnam Railways Zone after the formation of UPA government [at the centre],” he added.

‘TDP making

false claims’

Mr. Satish said the TDP government vaunted over the completion of many irrigation projects in the district that actually started during the Congress regime.Mr. Rao said the party would tour the district to identify the problems of people.
