Minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh on Wednesday said youth should set a goal and work hard with dedication to achieve it.

Mr. Lokesh was addressing students of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Amaravati campus, on the occasion of the University Day.

He said to provide students a platform to improve and showcase their creativity, the government was organising programmes like hackathons.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said, was working relentlessly to develop the State in line with the aspirations of youth.

He said there was a need to tell people how hard Mr. Naidu had been working to ensure that the younger generation in the State had every opportunity that their peers had in bigger cities.

‘Unique distinction’

The visionary that Mr. Naidu was, he encouraged the IT sector 20 years back and developed Cyberabad that attracted the world’s attention.

He said the government was trying to create similar infrastructure in the new capital by bringing in the IT industry.

VIT Chancellor G.V. Viswanatham spoke about the technology advancement. He said the campus had students from nearly 55 different nations.

University vice-president Sekar Viswanadham said VIT was the first institution to start operating in the new Capital Amaravati.
