A 33-year-old woman sustained serious burn injuries when her alcoholic husband allegedly set her ablaze at SC Colony in Santhamagaluru in Prakasam district on Friday. Police took into custody A. Ramesh, who poured kerosene his wife and set her ablaze after a tiff over his frittering away the money she had earned, to buy liquor. On hearing her cries, neighbours rushed to the woman, who sustained 70 per cent burns. The woman, who was rushed to a hospital at Narasraopet, is in a serious condition, Santamagaluru Sub-Inspector N. Raghava Rao said.
