Woman kills ‘drunkard’ husband

A woman, 30, killed her husband with the wire of a mobile phone charger, said Guntur police.

Ch. Vijaya Rao, SP, Guntur Urban, said Ketavat Malleswari Bai living at the Ambedkar Colony on Kakani Road killed her husband, Banavat Sankar Naik on April 13, when he was sleeping in a drunken stupor. In her confession, the accused told the police that she was fed up with his drunken behaviour and harassment. The accused, who is working at the sub-registrar office in Pedakakani, took the help of her cousin Tulasiram Naik in the act.

Based on the complaint by the deceased’s mother, Banavat Bai, the police registered a case.

Mr. Vijaya Rao said cases under Section 302 IPC and Section 201 read with 34 IPC were registered against the accused.
