Woman attacked at Dharmavaram rly. station

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man created flutter at Dharmavaram railway station in Anantapur district, by attacking a woman passenger on the premises of the waiting room, on Friday evening.

According to information, the man identified as Mubharak was seen loitering around the waiting room, allegedly making obscene gestures at women passengers.

Around 7 p.m., he suddenly barged into the waiting room, and pounced on a woman passenger and inflicted a couple of gashes on her with a blade.

When the woman shouted for help, he tried to flee, but was overpowered by the co-passengers.

When the incident took place, there was reportedly none at the Government Railway Police station. The police arrived after some time to take the man into custody.

The injured woman was rushed to the government area hospital at Dharmavaram.

A police personnel on duty said that the injured was safe. Further investigation is on.
