YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Sharmila’s bus yatra passed through some of the Assembly segments in the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency boosting the spirits of party cadres on Tuesday, the last day of the campaigning.

The bus yatra began in the city with Ms. Sharmila’s public address at Panja Centre. She was flanked by Vijayawada West segment candidate Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao and Vijayawada MP candidate Potluri Veera Prasad. Addressing the gathering at Panja Centre, Ms. Sharmila said: “Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is spreading false campaign that the YSRCP has a tacit understanding with the TRS and other parties. In fact, it was Mr. Naidu who tried for a tie-up with the TRS.”

“I am telling you the truth. We don’t need any affiliation with the BJP, the Congress or the TRS, as we are capable of fighting it alone. The YSRCP will win with huge majority and all the surveys in the country predicts the same,” Ms. Sharmila said. Mr. Naidu who badly needed support brought in several national leaders for campaigning in the State, she ridiculed.

Ms. Sharmila further said that Mr. Naidu failed on all fronts including construction of capital, Polavaram and other important projects in the State in the past five years.

‘No jobs’

She said only Mr. Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh got a job, while lakhs of youth were left unemployed despite tall promises. Because of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s fight for the Special Category Status, Mr. Naidu took a U-turn from the special package and changed the tune in favour of the SCS.

The bus yatra passed through Ibrahimpatnam, Mylavaram and Jaggayapeta and other areas where Ms. Sharmila addressed public meetings.
