In an unfortunate incident, a 20- year-old candidate for Village Revenue Officers' (VRO) exam died in a road accident near Devapur crossroad on Sunday.

Alekya, a B.Tech student, was coming to her Adilabad examination centre on a motorcycle when the incident took place.

She hails from Narsapur (G) in Dilawarpur mandal.

Alekya stayed overnight at her uncle's home at Ichoda. Her uncle was riding her to the centre when she accidentally suffered a fall on the National Highway 7.

Alekya died on the spot having received severe head injuries.
