Fifteen persons were injured when a private bus overturned near Gooty town on Monday.
According to the Gooty police, a bus belonging to Kesineni Travels going towards Bangalore from Hyderabad, overturned near the toll gate on NH 44, on the outskirts of Gooty. Police told The Hindu that the reason behind the bus overturning could be that the driver was sleepy and veered off the road or tried to avert an accident suddenly . While five of the injured were shifted to Kurnool government general hospital, the rest were administered first aid at Gooty before they were sent to the Anantapur government general hospital, the police said. The police have registered a case against the bus driver, who is absconding.
