Stressing the need for giving back to educational institutions, Chief Vigilance Commissioner K.V. Chowdary on Thursday called upon professionals to visit their alma mater at least once a year to share knowledge of their fields with students.
“It is not always donations that help institutions, sharing of knowledge by individuals from different fields is equally important,” he said, addressing a gathering at the 40th anniversary of the Anaparthi Educational Society that runs the GBR group of educational institutions in Anaparthi.
Calling mothers as the first gurus, Mr. Chowdary said they teach dos and don’ts before sending children to school.
“We should not forget our mothers, our schools and our villages. I am happy that students of this college are contributing to the overall development of the institution,” he said.
Fight against corruption
Referring to his department’s work, Mr. Chowdary underscored the need for eradicating corruption and spreading awareness about it among people.
“For the past four years, we have been conducting awareness sessions in villages and educational institutions. We have covered about 10,000 educational institutions so far,” he said.
On the anniversary, a reunion of alumni of the group’s institutions was held.
Founder of Santha Biotech K. I. Varaprasad Reddy, Rajamahendravaram MP M. Murali Mohan, former MP Undavilli Arun Kumar andVasudha Foundation Chairman Manthena Venkata Ramaraju were present.
