Amit Shah offers prayers at Tirumala

BJP president Amit Shah, accompanied by his family members, offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara here on Wednesday.

He was received by the authorities at the main temple complex and led into the sanctum sanctorum, where he stood for about 10 minutes in front of the deity.

Later, the priests chanted ‘Vedasirvachanam’ at Ranganayakula mandapam while the authorities presented him with laddu and memento of the deity.

Mr. Shah, while declining to talk politics, said that the divine darshan boosted his energy levels.

Later, the BJP leader visited the TTD-run SV Vedapathasala at Dharmagiri, located about 4 km amidst dense forest, and presented the students and members of the faculty with dhotis and ‘angavastrams’.

Meanwhile, party State official spokesperson and TTD board member G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy told the media that Mr. Shah reacted positively to the proposal of constructing the temple of Lord Venkateswara in the Capital of every State.

Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao and TD member-trustees D.P. Ananth and V. Krishna Murthy were among others who accompanied Mr. Shah.
