The YSRC took strong objection to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducting a pre-budget meeting in Vijayawada, with around 250 participants including police officers, leaving behind the top bureaucrats in the administration.
“The inclusion of police officers in the meeting is only to scare farmers who were unwilling to part with their fertile land in the capital region,” said MLA G. Srikanth Reddy. “Mr. Naidu left out the Principal Secretaries from Finance, Revenue and several other departments,” he said.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy alleged that the police personnel parading at the venue was to create a terror among the farmers in the capital region and the workshop had lost its purpose, with the officials concerned sitting in the AP Secretariat in Hyderabad.
“We demand the government to be accountable to every rupee it spends,” he said.
