The Seemandhra Congress leaders were late again, this time in reaching AICC observer and Union Minister Vayalar Ravi’s office as scheduled.
Mr. Ravi was reportedly displeased over the delay and snubbed the party leaders for not coming on time before leaving to Kochi to attend an official engagement.
This was not the first of its kind experience for the Seemandhra leaders with Mr. Ravi.
Leaders questioned
The Seemandhra leaders, as admitted by some State Ministers, drew flak from Mr. Ravi when they tried to impress him the need to maintain status quo a few days ago.
The AICC observer questioned as to why they did not pursue the issue when Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde announced his decision to convene all-party meeting on Dec 28 last.
This was followed by Mr. Shinde’s announcement that a solution to the Telangana issue would be found out within a month, but the Seemandhra leaders remained unmoved, Mr. Ravi was quoted as saying by Ministers who were present.
Mr. Ravi, however, gave an appointment at around 4 pm on Tuesday after being convinced by the Seemandhra leaders that they reached the capital in separate delegations and hence, the delay in assembling together.
