Senior YSR Congress Party leader and spokesperson Vasidreddy Padma has been appointed chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission.
Nannapaneni Rajakumari, who was holding office, resigned to the post following the change of guard in the State.
Ms. Padma hails from Krishna district and belongs to the Kamma community. She had joined the YSRCP in 2011 along with her husband Kanikarla Wesley.
As party spokesperson, she was one of the strongest critics of the Telugu Desam Party rule.
Chief Whip in Council
Meanwhile, senior YSRP leader and MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu has been appointed Chief Whip of the Legislative Council.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue, Stamps and Registration Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has been appointed leader of the YSRCP in the Council.
Another senior leader Gangula Prabhakar Reddy has been appointed Whip in the Council.
