Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana on Thursday said that Urban Health Centres would be strengthened in all the municipal corporations and municipalities in the State.

Reviewing the functioning of Urban Health Centres at the council hall of GMC, Mr. Narayana said that UHCs would be brought under the direct control of the respective Municipal Commissioners and a special officer would be appointed to monitor the functioning of UHCs. He said that proposals to equip the UHCs with a lab, X Ray unit and a pharmacy would be submitted to the Chief Minister.

“A special plan is being worked to develop model health centres across the State,’’ the Minister said.
