The Revenue Department in the district has been receiving several petitions over land transactions. Higher officials are directing the mandal offices to provide services quickly by using the technology. As per the directive of the government, all the mandal revenue offices have to provide land details within 20 days by updating the land records.
However, it is not being done in many offices owing to technical snags, dearth of staff and other reasons. With this, many farmers are moving around revenue officials seeking issuance of certificates such as Adangal, I-B, mutation and others.
The people can apply through MeeSeva centres which in turn send those applications to the revenue officers concerned. However, many of the people are forced to visit the revenue offices again to get the certificates. The revenue officials said many people failed to provide details about their land transactions after the completion of registration process. And it was not possible to issue certificates with their names without updating the records.
The problem was more with the regard to old transactions as the government is updating details from year 2013 under the integration process between Sub Registrar Officer and Mandal Revenue Offices. According to sources, Srikakulam district could update over 15,053 land transactions out of 19,826 petitions. “The remaining applications are under process. They will be updated very soon,” said a senior official.
