Two struck dead by lightning

Two persons were struck dead by lightning in Anantapur district, some mandals of which witnessed thunder showers on Monday.

Around 3 p.m., a 12-year-old boy was reported dead due to lightning on the outskirts of the Tangedukunta village of the Obuladevara Cheruvu (ODC) mandal of the district.

ODC police said the boy had gone to the well in his farm when there were thundershowers.

The boy was confirmed brought dead at the Government general hospital at Gorantla mandal headquarters village.

Another person, Narasimhulu (35) of Lakshumpalli village in Peddavadugur mandal of the district, died when lightning struck him and a flock of 20 sheep near a small water body on the outskirts of the village. Two sheep also died in the incident.
