Two drown in Yarada Beach

Two persons, including an infant, drowned in Yarada Beach, here on Saturday evening. The deceased have been identified as N. Rajasekhar (34), an NRI and native of Vijayawada, while his four-year old son was identified as N. Shourya.

According to New Port Police, Rajasekhar had come to his in-laws house at Kurmannapalem to see his second son, who was born recently. On Saturday evening, Rajasekhar, his first son Shourya, wife and a few other family members came to Yarada Beach.

Rajasekhar, Shourya and a few others went for swimming, where the father-son duo were pulled deeper by strong waves.

Police said that Rajasekhar was pulled back to the shore by a few locals and was shifted to hospital, where he was declared brought dead. However, there is no trace of his four-year old son Shourya and search is on.
