The TTD’s Garden Department on Friday embarked on an ambitious programme of planting over one lakh saplings at all its primary gardens existing atop the sacred town. According to TTD Deputy Director (gardens) Srinivasulu, the initiative is not only aimed at enhancing the greenery atop the sacred hills but also provide a touch of aesthetic feel to the multitude of pilgrims thronging the hill town. The programme will be carried out in three phases. While over 30,000 saplings are being planted in the first phase on Friday the remnant will be carried out in other two phases within the next three months.
