Srinivasa Kalyanam and S V Vaibhavotsavam Project of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavamulu at the PWD grounds here from July 4 to 9.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, TTD Joint Executive Officer (JEO) Pola Bhaskar said that the Vaibhavotsavamulu would start with punyahvachanam on July 3 at the grounds. The temple priests would sanctify the grounds, conduct homam and consecrate the Lord Venkateswara idol. The make shift temple would be thrown open for public from July 4 to 9. All sevas performed at Tirumala would be performed here.

Srinivasa Kalyanam

Devotees have no access to rituals like Ekanta Seva and Koluvu at Tirumala. They can take part in such sevas here free of cost. Ashtadalapada Padmaradhana, Sahasrakalasabhishekam, Tiruppavada, Thomala Seva, Sattumora, Sahasra Deepalankarana, Veedhi Utsavam etc would be conducted during the six days. Srinivasa Kalyanam and Pushpa Yaagam would be the highlight of the spiritual event, he said.

Model temple

The TTD constructed a model temple at Tirupati for the convenience of the SVBC channel. That idol would be installed by the TTD priests as per agama sastras, he said.

To a question, the JEO said, “There is nothing wrong in removing the idol though we consecrate it as per the agama sastras. The consecration is called as vayu pratishtha, which allows removing the idol after the event.”
