TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy has announced that the temple management will open its doors to physically-challenged students from across the country for admission to the Sri Venkateswara School for Deaf and Dumb.
On his visit to the school here on Thursday, Dr. Krishnamurthy directed TTD officials to prepare a master plan for launching a degree college for deaf and dumb students from the next academic year. “As many as 1,000 such children are studying at SV Schools in Tirupati, Bhimavaram and Warangal, while another 160 are studying at the junior college in Tirupati. The TTD will enrol the services of donors to expand its educational activities,” he said.
Earlier, he inspected the kitchen, classrooms and teaching aids distributed to students and enquired about the methods employed to teach hearing impaired students. He directed TTD officials to provide hygienic food, drinking water and also appoint a technician to repair the hearing aids of students in time.
