TTD staff to get 43 p.c. fitment

In an employee-friendly move the TTD board of trustees resolved to implement 43 per cent fitment hike to its employees on par with the State government employees. The decision is likely to put an additional burden of around Rs. 72 crore annually on TTD.

Briefing the deliberations of the board of trustees, which met here at Annamaiah Bhavan, on Tuesday TTD Chairman C. Krishna Murthy said the meeting also resolved to bring two ancient temples existing in Visakhapatnam and Anantavaram under the TTD fold. Salient among other decisions include construction of Vakulamatha guest house with 220 suites at Tirumala with Rs. 26 crore, sanctioning of Rs.4.26 crore towards construction of 96 rooms at its SVIMS super speciality hospital at Tirupati, besides setting-up of 10 MW solar power plant at Thamballapalli and 7.2 MW wind power mill at Tirumala.

Srinivasa Kalyanam

Heeding to the request of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) the board also resolved to organise Srinivasa Kalyanams at four places in US.

Pushpayagam

It was also resolved to introduce Pushpayagam at its Nagalapuram temple about 35 km from Tirupati and develop a red sandalwood plantation in over 400 hectares of land at Tirumala.
