It is only at the residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at Jubilee Hills that the AP police had taken charge of the security. Other important premises such as the Secretariat, Legislative Assembly and quarters of the Ministers are guarded by the police wings of Telangana.

Even at Mr. Naidu’s residence, deployment of Telangana police platoons was continued with even as AP armed policemen started guarding it, standing at the sentry posts.

“We asked an AP police officer in-charge of the security at Mr. Naidu residence to give in writing if they wanted to take sole responsibility of security at other places,” said city police officials.

As no such written order was given, authorities decided to continue to position Telangana State Special Police teams at Mr. Naidu’s residence.

“Whatever be the reasons behind the move of AP police to post their personnel at their CM’s residence, the overall security liability lies with us since the territorial jurisdiction comes under the Telangana police,” city police officials, wishing to remain anonymous, remarked.

Interestingly, no policeman of AP was posted at the other important premises falling under high security zones such as AP Secretariat, Assembly and the quarters of the Ministers. Only members of the TSSP are overseeing security at the Ministers’ Quarters while the AP Assembly and Security are under the control of Telangana Special Protection Force.
