TS lorry owners call off strike

The Telangana Lorry Owners’ Association called off its strike on Thursday, after talks with the government yielded positive results.

A committee has been constituted by the government to look into the demands put forth by the association, with members drawn from Transport, Police, Mining, Roads and Buildings, and Commercial Taxes departments, Minister for Transport P. Mahender Reddy said at a press briefing here on Thursday. Mr Reddy said the government had assured that all the problems faced by the lorry owners shall be resolved within three weeks, after the committee studies all their demands.
