Tirupati awarded for solid waste management

The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has been given the Best City in Solid Waste Management award (population category 1-3 lakh) during the recent Swachh Survekshan-2018 awards ceremony held at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

The award was presented to Chittoor District Collector P.S. Pradyumna, former MCT Commissioner and Kadapa District Collector C. Hari Kiran and MCT Commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju by Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Principal Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra. With Indore topping the Swachh Survekshan -2018 rankings, the officials later went round the city to identify and adopt their best management practices in the temple city of Tirupati.
