The famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara for the third consecutive day on Monday experienced a poor turn out of pilgrims.
Though the TTD had allocated 16.30 hours for the pilgrims, a mere 16,115 had the darshan of the presiding deity, according to the reports till in the evening.
Few private vehicles
The ghat roads, which normally are abuz with an uninterrupted flow of traffic, also registered a thin movement of vehicles. The Alipiri checking point at Tirupati — gateway to the sacred town — wore a deserted look. The RTC buses outnumbered the private vehicles.
Darshan in 1 hour
The situation was no different on both the footpaths with only 2,000 pilgrims trekking up.
It hardly took one hour for the pilgrims to have the darshan.
The mada streets encircling the sacred shrine also witnessed thin crowds.
The hundi registered a sharp decline with the offerings totalling to ₹1.15 crore contrary to its average income of over ₹2.80 crore a day.
