The three-day annual 'Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema’ – 2018 (International Islamic Congregation) will begin from December 8 near Thandrapadu village on the outskirts of Kurnool.

The district administration along with the police has made elaborate arrangements for the event, expected to witness a footfall of around 25 lakh people from across the world.

According to programme coordinator and District Minority Welfare Officer Mastan Vali, delegates from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Malaysia and Indonesia would take part in the event, being organised by the All India Ijtema Committee.

The State government has sanctioned ₹9.85 crore for the event, which will be held on 856 acres.

District Collector S. Satyanarayana, in coordination with officials from various departments, has arranged drinking water, sanitation and security.

Police, municipal and revenue personnel alongside volunteers will help organise the event.

In addition to private vehicles, the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) will be running special buses to the venue from various places across the district.
