The State government’s push towards embracing digital technologies would positively elevate the position of Andhra Pradesh in the sector, and efforts were being made to reach the pinnacle by the year 2022, said IT and Panchayat Raj Minister N. Lokesh on Saturday.

Speaking during the first Graduation Day of the International Institute of Digital Technologies (IIDT) and the valedictory session of the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) here, Mr. Lokesh urged youngsters to utilise the upcoming employment opportunities in IT, mobile and electronics sectors.

Emphasising on the State government’s focus on industrialisation, especially the foray of major companies in the Rayalaseema region, Mr. Lokesh advised the student community to keep themselves abreast with the latest technologies.

“Several global business models are undergoing a transformational change and the onus is upon us on how to meet the emerging challenges. The presence of a younger demographic will surely contribute to the development of the State, as well as the country. In addition to securing employment, youngsters should focus on creating them for others,” he said.

Offer letters

Later, he distributed offer letters to those who secured employment during the APITA Mega Job Fair held recently in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam, and oversaw the exchange of MoUs with VMware and Youth4Jobs.

He also launched ‘Cyber Security Hackathon’ and unveiled the APITA’s Look for Employees in Andhra Pradesh (LEAP).

Earlier, Mr. Lokesh, accompanied by IT Adviser J.A. Chowdary, MP N. Sivaprasad, MLA M. Suguna, and industrialist Galla Ramachandra Naidu, inaugurated the ‘Business Analytics and Cyber Security’ blocks of the IIDT at its upcoming campus.
