Third phase of red sanders auction begins in A.P.

The third phase of red sanders auction by Andhra Pradesh Government to sell 2, 868 metric tonnes of confiscated logs began on Wednesday.

The three-day auction, which is expected to fetch around Rs.750 crore to the State exchequer, will end on October 30. In all, 106 lots of different grades of red sanders would be put up for sale during the auction.

The first phase fetched Rs.855 crore while the second phase yielded Rs.178 crore as only 830 metric tonnes of 3,500 tonnes were sold.
