The Hindu Academic Pentathlon on December 11

The regional round of the second edition of The Hindu- Academic Pentathlon will be held at Vignan Residential campus, Timmapuram, on December 11 from 8 a.m.

It is being organised for junior and senior Intermediate students across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The regional rounds are being organised in five centres in A.P. and three in Telangana, with the grand finale at Vignan University, Vadlamudi, Guntur.

The regional rounds will comprise mathematics quiz, physics quiz, chemistry quiz, English elocution and fine arts.

For each event, the team members are limited to two per team. The topic for elocution is ‘Social media- pros and cons,’with time allotted being four minutes. Fine arts section, includes songs, music and dance, and the time allotted is four minutes for joint activity. For all the five activities, the total team strength is restricted to 10 per institutions.

The top six teams with the maximum overall score in all the five fields will be qualifying for the second round of quiz from which top two teams will be awarded with trophies and medals and will qualify for the grand finale. They will be provided travel allowance and accommodation.

Prizes

Gratification for the regional event will be done on the date of the event itself.

Apart from trophies and medals, regional winners will also get scholarship of 10% if they seek admission into Vignan University (a minimum of 9.33 CGPA for students from A.P. and 940 marks for students from T.S. should be obtained in Intermediate examination).

All the participants will be given a certificate of participation.

The first prize winner of the grand finale will get 50% scholarship, and second and third winners will get 25% scholarship respectively if they seek admission into Vignan University (Students from A.P. should have obtained a minimum of 9.50 CGPA and those from TS should have obtained 940 marks in Intermediate examination).
