E. Siva Nagi Reddy, CEO of Cultural Centre Of Vijayawada and Amaravati, found a new Telugu Inscription at Kattamuru village in Sattenapalli mandal of Guntur district.

According to a press release, on the basis of information given by Mandali Muralikrishna, president of the Sitaramanjaneya temple, Mr. Reddy inspected the temple and noticed a four-line Telugu inscription that dates back to 1435 AD, at the base of the idol.

The inscription records installation of the Anjaneya idol by one Errisetti, a local merchant, for the merit of his parents Tammasani and Gatamasetti, and donation of 25 cows for the perpetual lamp of the temple.

In view of its historical importance, Mr. Reddy appealed to the State Department of Archaeology and Museums to take a replica of the inscription, which is in the custody of Mr. Muralikrishna and kept in a Balalaya under proper care.
