Someswar Goud of the Telugu Desam Party

Someswar Goud (45), a local leader of the Telugu Desam Party, was hacked to death by unidentified persons in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, in Kurnool district of Rayalaseema region.

A follower of Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy, Mr. Goud, was hacked to death by the assailants, between Palledoddi and K. Venkatapuram villages while returning home along with his son after closing his wine shop at midnight. While Someswar Goud was on his motorcycle, five assailants allegedly came in a four-wheeler and attacked him. They fled the scene after the incident.

Police suspect the hand of some rivals and have begun search for the culprits by registering a case. Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Kurnool district, after the murder.

Mr. Goud is a native of K. Venkatapuram and was also the party vice-president of Devanakonda mandal unit

The mortal remains of Goud was sent for an autopsy. The deceased was an accused in few cases including a murder case in the mandal.
