Urges people to vote for BJP to usher in “honest and clean” politics

BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao on Wednesday warned the TDP against making baseless allegations for electoral benefits.

Addressing the media here, Mr. Narasimha Rao accused the TDP of working on a single-point agenda of maligning the BJP by resorting to a “misleading” campaign to gain people’s support in the elections.

Referring to the TDP allegations, he asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not have to worry about protecting any of his party leaders, and said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was panicky as the list of his leaders joining other parties was becoming longer by the day.

‘Corruption at all levels’

He accused the TDP leaders of resorting to gross corruption.

He said Mr. Naidu and his men had usurped thousands of acres of land, be it in Amaravati, Kakinada, SEZ, Machilipatnam port, Visakhapatnam or Bhogapuram.

“BJP will not sit quiet to your party leaders levelling baseless allegations against us,” he said.

He alleged the TDP was trying to use the “ill-gotten money” to buy votes in the elections.

In their greed for money, the regional parties were allotting party tickets to the candidates known for their corruption, illicit arrack trade and land mafia.

“People should realise this and reject such candidates,” he said.

Mr. Rao accused the TDP of giving tickets to tax-evaders, the corrupt and businessmen who resorted to wilful flouting of the law.

People should vote for BJP to usher in “honest and clean” politics that would pave the way for development of the State.

Party MLC Somu Veerraju, State spokesperson U. Srinivasa Raju, Kisan Morcha State president Suryanarayana Raju and others were present.
