: TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu described the alliance between him and Narendra Modi as “Jodi number one” and Congress party’s jodi with corruption as zero.

He claimed that he was not afraid of anyone as he does not have any corruption charges against him.

Addressing road-shows at Gadala and Bommuru centers on Tuesday during his one-day visit to East Godavari, Mr. Naidu said that no one trusts the Congress as they have sold out the state in total. He blamed Congress misrule for price rise, fall of rupee, rampant corruption and ineffective foreign policy.

Thrust

Harping on the development theme, Mr Naidu said that like his government in the past, Mr. Modi gave thrust to development in Gujarat.

“We both are meant for development…ours is jodi number one. Whereas the Congress is corruption friendly party”-Mr Naidu said.

Speaking on TDP ‘s alliance with BJP, Mr Naidu said the decision was taken keeping long-term interests of the State. Reiterating his election promises, the TDP president said that though the UPA government enacted the “Nirbhaya Act” in a hurry, it failed to implement it in letter and spirit.

Smart phones

He assured that he would provide smart phones to all women in the state to protect themselves.

He said that keeping Konaseema’s Crop Holiday in view, he decided to waive farmers’loans.

The TDP chief assured to give unemployed youth a stipend of Rs.2000, provide drinking water to all villages under NTR Sujala Sravanti scheme along with health care through NTR Health Cards.

Mr Naidu lost his cool when about 500 youth from Rajahmundry rural constituency rushed towards his campaign vehicle (prachara ratham) to protest against the allocation of ticket to party senior leader Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary.

“I will not yield to pressure tactics….if you have any complaints, come and meet me in the night…I will not tolerate indiscipline in the party” he told the youths.

When police tried to disperse the youth with force, Mr. Naidu asked them not to use force.
