TDP, YSRC activists clash over flexi banners

October 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - GUNTUR:

Activists of the TDP and YSRC came to blows at the faction-ridden Chandavaram village in Nadendla mandal over erection of banners at the village centre. TDP activists had put up banners on Dasara festivities even as YSRC workers came up with banners supporting the indefinite fast undertaken by Jaganmohan Reddy.

When the TDP workers tried to object, YSRC men allegedly beat them up. Police said the men used sticks and iron rods. DSP (Narsaraopet) Nageswara Rao said police forces were rushed to the village to quell trouble. They used force to control the situation and recovered weapons. Four persons were taken into custody and 20 persons were given counselling. A police picket was placed in the village.
