TDP wrests Kadapa DDCB chief post

Telugu Desam Party wrested the Kadapa District Cooperative Central Bank chairman from YSR Congress with G. Anil Kumar Reddy, son of Telugu Desam Party’s former MLA G. Veerasiva Reddy and DCCB Director, getting unanimously elected on Sunday. District Cooperative Officer and Election Officer Pome Naik declared Mr. Anil Kumar Reddy elected unopposed as his was the sole nomination to be filed and handed over the declaration form to him. Eight directors of YSR Congress, turned up on Sunday, but stayed away from the chairman election. The Directors of YSRC abstained on Saturday, leading to putting off of the election to today.

The ruling TDP had only six directors out of 17, but it gained the support of three YSRC Directors - Nagaraju Naidu and Srinivasulu of former MLA M.V. Ramana Reddy group and a director of Obulavaripalle mandal.

The TDP bagged three cooption memberships with the election of Baludu (BC) of Proddatur, Cahalamaiah Naidu (OC) of Chitvel and Raja Naik (ST) of Chintakommadinne on Sunday and its strength rose to 12. MP C.M.Ramesh, Government Whip M. Mallikarjuna Reddy, former MLAs N. Varadarajulu Reddy and M. Linga Reddy congratulated Mr. Anil Kumar Reddy .
