TDP rallies around arrested MLA Revanth Reddy

In a show of solidarity, top Telugu Desam Party leaders and the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, rallied around A. Revanth Reddy, arrested MLA, and attended the engagement of his daughter here on Thursday.

The MLA, who was arrested in the cash-for-vote scam, was released from the Cherlapalli Central Jail on conditional bail for 12 hours from 6 a.m. on Thursday. Accompanied by his wife, Geeta Reddy, and the bride, Nymisha, he arrived at the venue and confined himself to the rituals.

After the function, Mr. Reddy went to his Jubilee Hills residence around 2.30 p.m. An hour and a half later, he was escorted back to prison and by 5.10 p.m., he was inside his cell.
