TDP MPs joined BJP at Naidu’s instance, alleges Vijaya Sai

Leader of the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party V. Vijaya Sai Reddy on Saturday alleged that three of the four TDP Rajya Sabha members who joined the BJP did so at the instance of party national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

In a couple of tweets, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy charged Mr. Naidu with sending his RS members to the BJP in an attempt to prevent corruption cases against him.

The fact that Mr. Naidu did not write a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman seeking their disqualification was proof that he had knowledge of it, the YSRCP MP alleged. “This is 100% match fixing,” he asserted.

The YSRCP leader wondered about the “high secrecy” the TDP leaders were maintaining about Mr. Naidu’s foreign trip. While leaders close to Mr. Naidu were saying he was in Europe, the section of media that was considered close to him said he conducted a video conference from Europe, but was not ready to say whether Mr. Naidu was in Switzerland or Sweden.

Appointed Special Representative

Meanwhile, the government appointed Mr. Reddy as its Special Representative in New Delhi with Cabinet rank, a G.O. issued on behalf of Chief Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam said.
